Timeline

• 1995. I start writing online on the computers at my local library, before we had one at home.
• 2008. The App Store opens and I start building iOS apps.
• October 2010. Deallocated Objects launches on WordPress with its first post.
• 2011. The busiest year: open source libraries like JMImageCache, and a pile of link posts. I start at ShopSavvy.
• 2012. App reviews, the command line Xcode post, and JMStaticContentTableViewController.
• 2013. I move to San Francisco and launch Conditions.
• 2014. The blog moves from WordPress to a Rails app I wrote, with the design you’re looking at (mostly). Lots of Apple posts around the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch.
• 2015. I start Little Bites of Cocoa, which takes over my writing for three years. Deallocated Objects goes quiet.
• 2026. I move the blog off its 2012 server into a static site, make it readable by AI agents and start writing here again.
