About

Jake Marsh

Hey, I’m Jake Marsh. Inventor, founder, creator, writer and lifeform. This is my blog.

I’ve been writing online since 1995, when I was a kid typing on the computers at my local library because we didn’t have one at home yet. I started Deallocated Objects in 2010 to write about iOS development, and these days I write about whatever I’m digging into: Apple, developer tools, security, design and a whole lot of AI agents.

Why Listen To Me?#

I’ve been making iOS apps since the App Store opened in 2008, so I’ve lived through every one of Apple’s big shifts, from Objective-C and the iPhone OS to Swift, SwiftUI and the Vision Pro.

Since 2011 I’ve worked on ShopSavvy, a shopping app millions of people have used. It’s been acquired more than once, and I’m one of its co-founders now. I wrote Little Bites of Cocoa, 392 daily tips for iOS and Mac developers. And I run Great Work, my own little studio, where I ship Mac, iOS and web apps, most of them built side by side with AI agents.

So when I write about a new Apple API, a security incident or how coding agents are changing things, it comes from someone who’s shipped real products with that stuff and been bitten by most of it.
