{"title":"atom-spotify","source_url":"https://atom.io/packages/atom-spotify","markdown_content":"I've been really loving Github's new [Atom](http://atom.io) editor.\r\n\r\nI've also been blown away by the number of packages that have already been published only a few days after the project went public.\r\n\r\nLike most developers, I often like to crank the music while writing code. My music service of choice (at the moment at least) is Spotify.\r\n\r\nI like to listen to random playlists or Spotify app services like [Soundrop](http://soundrop.fm/) in an effort to expose myself to lots of new music.\r\n\r\nThis means I frequently find myself hitting `⌘+Tab` to bring Spotify to the foreground and glance at the artist or track name.\r\n\r\nThis felt silly, so I wrote a little Atom package to show me this info in Atom's status bar.\r\n\r\n![](https://dl.dropbox.com/s/5grx2ol4g4lcvb0/Screenshot%202014-02-28%2021.40.14.png)\r\n\r\nIf you're an Atom user, you can install the package in your Settings or by simply running this command:\r\n\r\n``` bash\r\napm install atom-spotify\r\n```\r\n\r\nThe package lives [right here](https://atom.io/packages/atom-spotify), and the source code is [over here](https://github.com/jakemarsh/atom-spotify).\r\n\r\nHappy listening! (and coding) ♫","html_content":null,"created_at":"2014-03-01T06:01:36.286Z","updated_at":"2014-03-01T06:01:44.433Z"}
